I was lucky enough to visit New York City just on a year ago. I fell in love with NYC as many a traveller does, I got lost in the city - literally and also in the sense that the city resonated with me in a way I can't explain - I felt a part of the humdrum of daily life and I could have wandered and explored the streets and sights of NYC for days and weeks on end.
I loved the weather, the sightseeing, the entertainment, the people, the events, the chaos, the architecture, the skyscrapers, the bridges, the shops, the life in NYC - the greatest city in the world.
One of my favourite photos from my time in NYC - Lady Liberty's silhouette in the winter sunshine - and my favourite travel quote.
Maxabella asked the question "what inspires you the most?" and to that I answered "travelling."
I am grateful and inspired by the travelling that I have done in the last 18 months;
I've been lucky enough to travel to San Francisco, New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and also to Fiji. What a year it was! I'm truly grateful for the beautiful places I saw, the cultures I embraced and all the sights, sounds and tastes I experienced around the world.
I'm also grateful for the travelling that is still to come, Europe is on my must-do list and I'm entertaining the thought of visiting all the token places on my honeymoon next year.
So with no travelling to be done until 2013 I have to be content, grateful and inspired by what I've seen, where I've been and what's still in store. I'm grateful for my photos and memories of travel and holidays.
This week I am also grateful for my extended school holiday break, as a teacher next week will bring my fifth and final week of school holidays.
I'm grateful for school holidays and the break it provides. Holidays and time off inspires me to recharge and come back to my job with renewed enthusiasm and joy to play such an important role in many young lives. Holidays inspire me to review my work, relax, come up with new ideas, play, be creative and enjoy my job for all it brings.
For all this I am grateful this week. You can see some more travel pictures here.

That's an awesome photo and I love your quote, J. Can I please load it onto the photoboard at the Kidspot Grateful site? It is just made for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI have also pinned it to a Grateful board. I hope you don't mind.
I'm a big traveller too and not a day goes by when I don't feel the way I felt when we were on the road. It's magic.
